A live broadcast can't always go exactly according to plan - but with "Let's Dance" there was an unpleasant mistake in the first scenes on Friday evening.

Cologne – On Friday, RTL is currently all about “Let’s Dance”. So that the stars can shine on the dance floor, they train hard from week to week with their respective professional dancers. The production and broadcaster are also taking some precautions and preparing for the live broadcast - but none of this helped in the edition on April 5, 2024: Shortly after the start, the speaker made a mistake.

Sophia Thiel mixed up: TV announcer makes a mistake with the “Let’s Dance” intro

The live broadcast had to be canceled on Good Friday - but in a special show, Renata Lusin (36) revealed why she didn't grant her husband Valentin (37) the “Let's Dance” victory. The following week everything should go according to plan in the RTL format. But the usual march of celebrity dancers went wrong this time. But it wasn't the stars who were to blame, but rather the off-screen speaker.

Because Patrick Linke (54) completely forgot about fitness influencer Sophia Thiel (29) and her dance partner Alexandru Ionel (29) - instead he introduced Lulu Lewe (32) and Massimo Sinató (43) twice. Anyone who hadn't noticed the mistake in front of their TV screens was even made aware of it a little later by presenter Daniel Hartwich (45). He immediately noticed that Sophia Thiel had to forego her announcement. “Our Patrick,” he began and joked: “Has he seen Lulu twice, Patrick.” But not as wild as Daniel Hartwich thinks. “The first mistake in 17 seasons,” he defended the commentator.

Mistake not missed: TV audience suspects consequences of “Let’s Dance” faux pas

As usual, the viewers at home were less gracious and diligently commented on the little mishap on social media.

But I thought wrong: Giovanni Zarrella's (46) younger brother Stefano (33) had to say goodbye. In fact, commentator Patrick Linke doesn't need to blame himself - after all, he wasn't the first to make a mistake during the live broadcast. There was a technical glitch in the opening episode of “Let's Dance”.
