The end-of-life bill, which will be presented on Wednesday April 10 to the Council of Ministers, contains a ten-year plan for the development of palliative care unveiled on Saturday to Le Monde by the Minister of Health.
Catherine Vautrin announces that she wants to open palliative care units (USP) in all departments in 2025.
“The number of patients who will require palliative care will increase by 16% in ten years. We will increase spending by 66%. Social Security credits committed today for palliative care are 1.6 billion euros per year. We anticipate 1.1 billion more, in ten years
,” explains the minister.
