Car transporter burns on the A3 near Neumarkt: large-scale deployment of the fire brigade
As Daniel Gottschalk, press spokesman for the fire departments in the Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate, reported to
Vifogra
, the fire departments were alerted to the fire at around 5:11 p.m. “A car transporter loaded with eight cars caught fire in the front area of the tractor. “The fire spread to the tractor itself and to the loaded cars,” said the firefighter. The alarm was raised promptly because, among other things, more forces were needed to cool the vehicles and extinguish the embankment.
Both lanes of the motorway were closed to protect the emergency services and because the heavy smoke was causing visibility obstructions.
