"In the case of the Fontanabuona tunnel, a project which we remember has been awaited by the territory for decades, the request to activate the PRIS should come from the Municipalities that will be involved in the future construction site in agreement with Autostrade, i.e. the company that will take care of its construction. If this happens, the Region will be ready to adapt this instrument, the rationale of which is to protect the affected citizens and at the same time accelerate the creation of strategic infrastructures". Councilor Giampedrone said this in a note after the controversy in the last session of the Regional Council.
"The controversies raised by councilor Garibaldi on the Fontanabuona tunnel project are absolutely sterile, and it is surprising that such statements come from those who sit in the regional council and who therefore should know how these procedures work. The Regional Strategic Intervention Program (PRIS), or the tool designed to analyze the effects of the major works on the territories involved and guarantee the sustainability of the choices, is activated at the request of the local authorities involved, not "ex officio" and autonomously by the Liguria Region" wrote Giampedrone.
