Five years ago, the then 15-year-old Rebecca Reusch disappeared without a trace. Were the investigators following up on every lead back then? A family friend has doubts.
Munich – The disappearance of Rebecca Reusch has been a mystery for investigators for five years. A friend of the missing woman's family now told of calls from an officer that had unsettled her.
Rebecca Reusch missing for five years – woman reports disturbing details
In the case of 15-year-old Rebecca, new clues about her whereabouts continue to emerge. At the end of 2020, a large search operation was launched in the Brandenburg forests after a witness testified in the case. In a podcast, the witness reported how she had seen a conspicuous man in a forest on the day of the disappearance. Another witness also claims to have observed a vehicle that looked like his brother-in-law's striking raspberry-red car. Rebecca's brother-in-law Florian R. is still considered the main suspect and is presumed innocent.

The police had already searched the adjacent forest several times. Two arbors that are in the area were excluded. As the Berlin public prosecutor's office announced, no connection could have been established between the suspect and the empty arcades. A witness who says she is a family friend sees things differently. According to her, she heard Rebecca's family talking about the bowers.
Police do not search Lauben in Waldstück and are apparently putting the witness under pressure
“Once the family made fun of the fact that the police only searched the forest and not the arbors,”

quotes the family friend as saying. She reports that she was present at several family celebrations after the disappearance and that she listened carefully: “I heard for myself how Florian's connection to the arcades was going on.” What is said to have followed: an officer from the homicide squad called her and put under pressure.
The officer told her that she should not talk to other people or the press about any information because otherwise she would be committing a criminal offense. After

reported on the arcades, the officer apparently called again and questioned her - without a report. The police and public prosecutor's office both say they cannot provide any information on the matter. So the search for Rebecca Reusch continues - the police have long assumed that the then 15-year-old did not survive the day she disappeared. (
