Things rarely get this emotional with “Cash for Rares”: When a saleswoman began to cry, Horst Lichter spontaneously took her into his arms.
Cologne – At “Bares für Rares” candidates offer private antiques, rarities and curiosities for sale. The pieces are evaluated by experts and then courted by five dealers. As usual, Horst Lichter talked to his guest for a bit before expert Sven Deutschmanek (47) assessed the two properties for sale. Candidate Heide revealed that she came from Korschenbroich. “It’s not that far away,” stated the moderator. He then wanted to know: “Do you have any fun hobbies, is there anything that you say you really enjoy doing?”

Actually a harmless question. But the 74-year-old surprised the TV chef with her emotional answer. “Not anymore at the moment. “I cared for my husband for 20 years and then everything was over,” she revealed the sad reason. Horst Lichter then had to take a deep breath. “I really hope this goes well for you,” he tried to cheer her up. But Heide was visibly fighting back tears. The TV star couldn't watch that so easily. “Come on, give me a hug, my child, come here,” he said and spontaneously hugged the saleswoman.

To distract her, he led the conversation back to Heide's items for sale. “So, now you’re with me,” Lichter explained. “The snowmen should go. And I guess, the way I’ve gotten to know you now, my love, there are memories attached to it and they should just go now.”

Heide confirmed this statement with a strong nod. Expert Sven Deutschmanek then explained that the souvenirs were “very well-known cactus lights”. Ultimately, the seller was able to achieve a proud price of 530 euros for the white lamps. In the bidding war, dealer Esther Ollick (44) won the contract. Horst Lichter is always there for his “Cash for Rares” colleagues, but once he really annoyed someone.
