When the announcement was made on RTL, it was noticeable that not all of the “Bauer sucht Frau International” candidates presented in 2023 were there. The production team now reveals why the participants are partly to blame.

Cologne - On April 16th it's that time again: Then farmers beyond the German borders also want to find happiness in love with RTL and Inka Bause (55) on “Bauer sucht Frau International”. At least the first episode of the recordings that have taken place in the past few months will be broadcast. Although ten candidates were advertised, only eight can be seen in episode one.

“Bauer sucht Frau International” only starts with eight instead of ten participants

In October 2023, RTL presented the ten farmers, mostly with German-speaking roots, who live in their adopted foreign home and are looking for a partner. From Austria and France to Guatemala and Togo, the production locations in season six are as diverse as usual. This year there are two women looking for partners: Marisol (65) from Colombia and Ulrike (57) from Brazil. The age range of the participants from 33 to 63 also gives hope for an interesting season. In March it was announced that “Bauer sucht Frau” would only be broadcast on Tuesdays, now there is another change.

A press release from

RTL

at the start of the broadcast now shows that two of the applicants are no longer there: olive farmer Frank (58), who lives on the Greek island of Corfu, and farmer Isidor (49) from Bosnia-Herzegovina. In the case of Isidor, it became clear relatively quickly in October that he had to be taken out of production. An RTL spokeswoman told the news service

t-online

at the time that the farmer had to be removed from the cast before the farm week “due to false information” about himself.

RTL gives reasons for rescheduling “Bauer sucht Frau International”

What happened to olive farmer Frank explains to RTL to

t-online

: “The reasons for this are varied and can be of a production-technical or personal nature.” It could happen that the applicants do not appeal to the farmers or that they have already found new partners in the meantime would have. In Frank's case, the decision was made for production reasons. The broadcaster leaves it open what that means in concrete terms. The farmer himself made a more concrete statement on his Instagram profile “Frankboxerherz” on Thursday (April 4, 2024) that explains a lot.

In it he says: “I was hoping that I wouldn't be the one who had to leave before the final weeks of filming [...]. [...] To be honest, as the only gay participant and with the most support on Instagram, I could hardly have imagined this. [...] But whoever plays along must also be able to lose." Various circumstances meant that his week at the farm was not a good one: "bad bronchitis, a lousy olive harvest and constant rain instead of sun" overtook him in Corfu.

In addition, Frank actually had a “Mr. Right”, but he didn’t want to be shown during filming. RTL saw this as a problem for the other applicants, writes the 58-year-old. The shoot was first postponed and then canceled completely. He would still like to thank everyone for their great support, including the producers.

The farmer no longer finds his true love on TV, although after the filming was canceled, his Mr. Right is not local, but is at his side as a partner. It seems to have worked. What happens next for the others will be broadcast every Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. from April 16th. Show host Inka Bause also recently gave rare insights into her past and the death of her ex-husband.
