RTL presenter Katja Burkard usually attaches importance to protecting her family's privacy. Now she shares a rare photo with her daughter.
Lisbon – Katja Burkard (58) is followed by around 217,000 users on Instagram (as of April 4, 2024). She regularly keeps them up to date with insights into her life as a presenter. However, the journalist usually keeps a low profile about her private life. Now Katja Burkard is making a rare exception.
Katja Burkard: Sweet declaration of love to her younger daughter
The 58-year-old posted a mother-daughter photo together on her Instagram account. The photo shows her arm in arm with her younger daughter Katharina - but only from behind. The Cologne native gives her darling a kiss on the cheek while the cityscape of Lisbon can be seen in the background. The family is currently enjoying their Easter vacation there.
There is plenty of reason to celebrate: As Katja Burkard reveals in her post, it was her daughter's birthday. “My 'little one' turns 17 today! Happy birthday, Katharina,” wrote the proud mother of two. Referring to the rainy weather, she added with a wink: “In the past, my mom would have just bought you a rain thing... Today you decide for yourself and you're soaking wet.” Finally, a declaration of love to her daughter couldn't be missing: “And that's also why I love you I love you like crazy, Sunshine.” The “Point 12” presenter underlined her statement with three red heart emojis.
“Proud of my little one”: RTL presenter Katja Burkard about daughter Katharina
Katja Burkard reveals to RTL what makes her relationship with her younger daughter so special. “There is no one in the world with whom I laugh as much as Katharina,” says the 58-year-old. “Even if she imitates me. I am proud of my little one, who is already much bigger than me, for many reasons: on the one hand, Katharina is super tough and on the other hand, she has a heart of gold!”
The journalist also has a daughter Marie-Therese (21) with her partner Hans Mahr (74). In contrast to Katharina, she has already been seen a few times on “Point 12”. Not long ago Katja Burkard made a guest appearance on Sebastian Pufpaff's “TV total”. There she took on the role of moderator for a short time.
