As a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan on April 3, 2024, nurses at a maternity ward rushed to gather together cribs in which newborn babies were sleeping. This moving moment was captured in several hospitals on the island by video surveillance cameras.
Taiwan had not experienced such a strong earthquake in 25 years. At least ten people were killed and 1,099 injured. Rescuers continue to search for residents trapped under the rubble.
