Tourist information gives bathing tip: “A real highlight”
This refers to the Ölschnitzsee, which is located in the municipality of Steinbach am Wald (Kronach district) in the Rennsteig region in the Franconian Forest. The lake is “a real highlight for water lovers big and small,” reports the Frankenwald tourist information office on Facebook. There are numerous options for guests such as pedal boating, mini golf or a playground for the little ones. Showers, changing rooms, toilets and loungers are also available. “What more could you want?” says the Facebook post.

“Stop,” it continues, because your physical well-being also needs to be taken care of. “The currywurst in the Seehütte is really awesome,” enthuses the Frankenwald tourist information office in the Facebook post. In addition, the Ölschnitzsee is also suitable for people with walking difficulties. There is also the possibility of getting into the water with a wheelchair via a ramp. The path around the lake can also be easily mastered with a walker, they say.

“We recommend: pack your swimming trunks, grandma, grandpa and everyone else and then head to the Ölschnitzsee.” The post is well received on Facebook. “Fantastically beautiful,” comments one woman. “Always nice there,” someone agrees. Many are planning to visit the lake soon. Over 270 people have already shared the post.
