Exciting event at the Western Wall in Jerusalem: The IDF and the military rabbinate held an exciting Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah event this weekend (Thursday) for IDF orphans and orphans, seven months after October 7 and at the height of the "Iron Swords" war.
The children received a set of tallit and tefillin which they put on for the first time and at the same time the military rabbinate held an experiential activity for the mitzvah girls. In an emotional ceremony, the children lit memorial candles in memory of their parents.

The head of the ACA, General Yaniv Asur, and the chief rabbi of the IDF, Brigadier General Rabbi Eil Karim, participated in the event. Rabbi Karim blessed the children and said: "We are in the midst of a difficult war that has been imposed on us, and to our sorrow and pain, the price of defending the homeland that we all pay - and you especially is Great and unbearably difficult."
The rabbi added: "The heroism of your parents who fell in the battle for Israel's independence, is forever engraved on the Eastern Wall of Israel's heroes for generations. Excitement and great joy surround us in this festive occasion, but this joy is accompanied by a great tear of sadness and longing. Longing for the parents who are not, longing for those who you and we miss so much today, longing for those who passed the baton to us and you in the messenger race, but did not get to see you, pass it on, to future generations."
Finally Chief Military Rabbi Karim blessed the children" With a good sign and good luck" and thanked them for allowing him to participate in the joy: "I wish you to continue, grow and develop in health and joy, and to know that we are all with you and very proud of you."
