In Vémars, high up, among the trees, the pretty town hall stands out. On the ground floor, a large wooden desk, an almost century-old Remington typewriter. On an armchair, the hat of the former owner of the place, as if it had just been thrown there nonchalantly. In a window, his watch, his press card, letters, some writings and books, lots of books. The shelving even extends upstairs. Welcome to the small museum dedicated to the village of eastern Val-d'Oise to one of its famous inhabitants: the writer François Mauriac.
