Chief Rabbi of Israel HaGaon Rabbi David Lau in Madrid/Chaim Cohen
The chief rabbi of Israel HaGaon Rabbi David Lau came over the weekend to strengthen the Jewish community in Madrid, Spain.
The rabbi left from a side exit at the airport without passport control. And this is due to the security situation in the world towards Jews, the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau and Rabbi Eliyahu Malol, flew tonight from Colombia to Madrid and from there to Israel. While waiting in Madrid, the rabbis met with dignitaries of the local Jewish community at the airport.

Due to the tense security situation, a local businessman from the community, Sami Ben Hamo, organized a side trip for the rabbis. When the rabbis landed, an armored Mercedes vehicle was waiting for them, so that they would not be forced to enter the port itself in the background of the security situation.
The rabbis and heads of the community waited for the distinguished delegation inside the field, and immediately left with the vehicle without the procedure we are all familiar with. The Jewish community organized a Torah book for dawn at the airport, and a special breakfast with the "Milk Israel" stamp in a special complex.
After breakfast, the immigration officials arrived and signed their passports in the unique complex organized by Mr. Sami Ben Hamo, who is engaged in mining fuels and minerals in various countries around the world. The chief rabbi and rabbi Malol underwent a light inspection according to the protocol (to rule out weapons). The rabbis left for the car again, and from there it was back to the plane towards Israel.

While the rabbis were in the compound, several armed security guards were standing outside. Rabbi Nissim Levy, the grandson of the tzaddik gaon Chacham Nissim ben Shimon, arranged the entire procedure from his office in Israel.
Rabbi Levy made sure that the chief rabbi would not go through like all the passengers because of the security situation. The one who actually made sure that everything was ticking was David Gozlan who worked together with Mr. Sami Ben Hamu to make sure everything worked out for the best.
The meeting was also attended by Rabbi Avraham Medina, grandson of the rabbi of the Jewish quarter who runs an Orthodox institution in Madrid to bring young people closer to Judaism - the "Olami" institution. Among the dignitaries was also Carlos Malka, the boosters of the Jewish community in Spain.
