The climb to the three peaks

The path begins behind the Origin Pass near Bayrischzell and mostly leads to the Hintere Sonnwendjoch. But the real highlight lies on the mountain range opposite, consisting of Schmaleggerjoch, Thalerjoch and Frechjoch. Here, hikers can expect peace and solitude, interrupted only by the whistling of marmots or the ringing of cows' bells.

A special highlight of the tour is the stop at the Ackernalm, where hikers are treated to delicious mountain cheese, fresh butter and other alpine products. In the show dairy, visitors can also see up close how the fresh milk from the alpine farmers is processed into delicious cheese.

The enjoyment continues in the Berggasthof Ackernalm, where the landlady Sabine Erhart delights with her culinary creations. A trio of spinach, beetroot and cheese dumplings decorated with edible flowers is not only a feast for the taste buds, but also a feast for the eyes.
