A new brewery is at the Hallberger Wiesn this year and is bringing a breath of fresh air to the festival. There was also something new about the beer tasting - and a bit of a stir beforehand.

Hallbergmoos

- A - dispelled - suspicion of taking advantage, then the concern that a flash mob would descend on the town hall square in view of 500 liters of free beer: The beer tasting in Hallbergmoos caused quite a stir in advance. Last but not least, it was only wind and weather that shook up the opening event of the Hallberger Wiesn a little.

The Wittmann private brewery is serving beer for the first time this year at the Hallberger Wiesn, which takes place from April 24th to 28th. In the Landshut area, on the Dingolfinger Kirta, on Dulten and at club festivals between Weng and Schmatzhausen, Wittmann beer is served a lot, explains Adrian Kell at the public beer tasting. According to the managing partner, between events and catering, retail is the actual core business. The festival host Alexander Tremmel also comes from Landshut. The change in brewery is also thanks to this fact. The two protagonists know and appreciate each other, says Tremmel. “And if we don’t get a Ferris wheel this year, we’ll at least get a new brewery.”

Free beer and sausages for the brewery's debut

The festival host and brewery boss didn't come to the debut empty-handed: Kell had 500 liters of free beer with him. Tremmel provided sausages and rolls, which the Goldacher boys and girls sold for the benefit of their club funds. The municipality provided the stage, hired the Goldacher Buam band and security - not least because we had heard something on social media about an appointment for a free beer flash mob. But that didn't happen.

“The new brewery not only wants to conquer hearts, but also throats,” said Mayor Josef Niedermair in welcoming around 300 visitors. The public beer tasting on Thursday, which is otherwise only held “in a quiet little room” for the local council and firefighters, shows that people are close to the people. The festival host also enjoyed “the slightly different beer tasting”: “When I go to Hallbergmoos, it’s all about partying, a good mood and people who are all in a good mood.”

This year, according to Tremmel, he is coming with sadness, “because the mayor has announced his departure.” When the people of Hallbergmoos go to the ballot box, he hopes that a town hall boss will be elected again “who stands by this folk festival, in the big one Energy and a lot of enthusiasm are put into it.” In the same breath, he thanked the community’s event manager, Benjamin Henn, “for the top organization.”

This year the beer measure costs 11.80 euros

Master brewer Florian Drißl revealed the details about the festival beer: It is Dult beer with an original wort of 13.5 degrees Plato and 5.9 percent alcohol by volume. The raw materials all come from the region. The beer will cost 11.80 euros at the tenth Hallberger Wiesn. The chicken is served for 13.90 euros.
