Who could blame Plume? This Australian Shepherd Labrador cross was shot and killed last Friday in Roz-Landrieux, in Ille-et-Vilaine near France 3 Bretagne. Its owner is calling for witnesses to understand what could have happened.
While the animal was a few meters from its mistress, shots rang out. “There was a loud noise and my dog turned around. I ran behind because the noise continued. There were three or four shots. Then, I called her back and when she came back, I saw that she was injured and she collapsed,” her owner told our colleagues. The latter tries to urgently call a veterinarian but it is already too late: her dog has just expired in her arms.
The post-mortem findings clearly reveal the presence of a bullet in the dog's body. A complaint was filed and a gendarmerie investigation opened, reports the regional channel.
Rapeseed fields
The owner of the deceased animal, who spoke anonymously, was unable to understand the shooter's motivations. “There were several shots, so it wasn’t a mistake,” she whispers. “A priori, there is no longer a fight in progress. The hunting season is closed,” she continues.
At the time of the incident, the woman tried to identify the source of the shots. In vain. “I was looking in the fields, but I didn't think to look up at the houses or anything else. I don't see why there could have been anyone in the field. These were rapeseed fields. It's not very high. We can see far enough so if there had been someone hiding, I would have seen them,” she recalls.

To try to advance the investigation, the complainant launched a call for witnesses on social networks. “I'm looking for people who heard something, who saw a person with a weapon. Any lead is a good one to take so that this never happens again. It was a dog, it could have been a child. I myself could have been hurt,” she wrote.
She encourages people with information to notify the Dol gendarmerie.
