Highlights: Latin challenge, in Sulmona 40 for Certamen Ovidianum - Abruzzo. There are more than 40 high school students who on the morning of Friday 12 April will test themselves in the test. The high schools represented are 20:12 Italian in total, representing five regions, eight European high schools from three nations, Austria, Germany and Romania. Certamen2024 will officially open on Thursday 11th at 5.30pm at the Cinema Pacifico with the presentation of the international Latin competition.

There are more than 40 high school students who on the morning of Friday 12 April will test themselves in the test of the 23rd Certamen Ovidianum Sulmonense based on the translation, commentary and critical analysis of a passage taken from a work by Ovid. The high schools represented are 20:12 Italian in total, representing five regions, eight European high schools from three nations, Austria, Germany and Romania. Certamen2024 will officially open on Thursday 11th at 5.30pm at the Cinema Pacifico with the presentation of the international Latin competition. Speaker: Professor CristinaVallini. Guest of honor will be the actor Daniele Pecci who will recite verses of Ovid's works together with the students of the "Ovid" high school.


    On the afternoon of Friday 12 April, at the Cinema Pacifico - 5pm - the students of the 'Ovidio' high school will propose "VinceCupidineas sagittas". Followed by conversations on the topic "ArsAmatoria, Remedia Amoris, Medicamina Faciei: traditions and translations". Speakers were professors Arturo De Vivo (University of Naples "Federico II"); Diego Poli (University of Macerata); Rossana Valenti (University of Naples "Federico II").


   Introduction and conclusions entrusted to professor DomenicoSilvestri (University of Naples "l'Orientale").


    Saturday 13th, final day (Cinema Pacifico, 5pm) with the theater show "The changing of forms into new bodies", performed by the students of the "Ovidio" classical high school, directed by Mario Massari. In closing, the ritual award ceremony for the winners of the Certamen Ovidianum Sulmonense.
