A solar eclipse can occur two to three times per year

. A total solar eclipse, like the one this Monday, April 8, occurs, on average, every 18 months, they explain at exploratorium.edu.

And they detail that in the same place on Earth one could be seen approximately every 300 to 400 years.

This Monday's astronomical phenomenon crossed from southwest to northeast in the United States and is also considered a great eclipse.

We will have to wait until 2045 to see a similar one in the same area.

On the other hand, NASA launched three probe rockets into the shadow of the Moon during the eclipse to study how the phenomenon affects the Earth's atmosphere

. "Each rocket will eject four secondary instruments the size of a two-liter soda bottle that also measure the same data points, so it is similar to the results of fifteen rockets, although only three are launched," explained Aroh Barjatya, professor in engineering physics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida.

Additionally, this total solar eclipse is a key moment for research, since the next total solar eclipse over the United States is scheduled for 2045.
