Honest, reliable, loving: that's what Margarete and Hans Barucha have loved about each other for 60 years.

Erding – “It’s unbelievable how time flies.” With these words, Margarete Barucha greeted those wishing her diamond wedding, which she and her husband Hans were able to celebrate in their own four walls. There they both take care of their own household and garden completely on their own and love each other like they did on the first day. The first time we met more than 60 years ago was through a few detours.

Margarete, now 83 years old, grew up in Lower Silesia, her 90-year-old husband in Upper Silesia. She came to Erding via Braunschweig and Deggendorf because her stepfather got a job in the Bundeswehr. Hans Barucha moved with his family via Vienna to the Wasserburg district.

When he did his basic military service, he was sent to the barracks in Oberviechtach. The stepfather of his future great love also worked there, and he drove him to Erding a few times. Here Margarete waited at the window and waved to the street - the two started talking and soon fell in love.

Two years after their first meeting, Margarete and Hans Barucha married in Heilig Blut and settled in the Erdinger district of Pretzen. A little later they were happy about their son Hans-Peter, and now they also have two grandchildren, Lara-Sofie and Anna-Marie.

After the wedding, the now 90-year-old, who had previously worked in construction, studied the IHK to become a construction industry master through the second educational opportunity. He remained true to his profession as a building contractor until he retired. Margarete Barucha completed training as a tailor for women's clothing and was working in Munich at the time. After the birth of her son, she became self-employed as a women's clothing cutter: "When I turn 60, I'll stop and retire," she said at the time and put her plan into practice. After all, in addition to the household, her son and her job, she also had to take care of her mother-in-law for a long time.

The two of them had a great hobby in common: traveling. Whether Beijing, Hawaii, Africa, Canada, the USA or Russia, they flew across the globe. As they got older, they enjoyed traveling by bus, and even though they no longer go far away, they still travel around their house in Pretzen.

What Margarete Barucha loves most about her husband is his honesty and reliability: “He was always there when I needed help.” Hans Barucha complimented her loving nature over and over again. The 90-year-old describes how they live together and make a living and still look after each other. On the day of the diamond wedding, Mayor Max Gotz and District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer also stopped by to congratulate and were happy with the happy couple.
