Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir announced this evening (Monday) that Chief Avshalom Peled will be appointed Inspector General of the Israel Police. As of today, Superintendent Peled is the Deputy Commissioner of the Police. The appointment will be submitted to the Committee for the Appointment of Senior Officials and approved by the government.
Superintendent Avshalom Peled, 63 years old, married and the father of three, began his career in the Israel Police about 40 years ago as an MGB soldier and a platoon commander in the Defense Forces , after he was released from the IDF as an officer in the Armored Brigade.
