Christian B. is considered the main suspect in the Maddie case. He is now on trial for other alleged crimes. A witness reveals disturbing details.
Kassel – Christian B. is standing before the Braunschweig regional court. He is accused of three counts of aggravated rape and two counts of child sexual abuse in Portugal. Regardless, investigators assume that he is also the main suspect in the Madeleine (Maddie) McCann case. In Braunschweig, a witness is now revealing disturbing details about the 47-year-old.

A former fellow prisoner testified in court about their time together while in prison in Portugal. He is considered the most important witness in the trial. The two men were in prison in 2006 for joint theft and spent a lot of time together there and apparently even became friends. The defendant is said to have told his fellow inmate that he had held a girl in his house for several days and raped her, the 50-year-old explained in court.
During his detention, the Maddie suspect's nighttime break-ins into holiday apartments were often discussed. “While in custody, B. told me that he breaks into holiday resorts at night stark naked so that he doesn't get stuck while climbing on the facade. He preferred English tourists because they always had cash with them,” the

Witness in court: Maddie suspect was probably very afraid of a house search
During visits to Christian B's house, the witness also noticed countless passports and other stolen goods. The defendant is said to have been very afraid that the police would search his house, the 50-year-old said. That's why B. asked a visitor in prison to get the passports out of the house. In addition, the fellow prisoner gave him the last of his money for a lawyer. “He really wanted to get out,” he told the court. This is not the first incriminating witness statement from the fellow inmate: on a previous day of the trial, the witness brought up the name Maddie McCann. Last year there were already indications that should incriminate Christian B. in the Maddie case.
Today the former fellow prisoner probably doesn't want anything to do with B. anymore. “He must be brought to justice,”

Christian B. in court for alleged sexual offenses
Between 2000 and 2017 he is said to have tied up and raped a 70 to 80 year old woman in her holiday apartment. He is also accused of tying a 14-year-old German-speaking girl naked to a wooden post and raping her. He is also said to have raped a 20-year-old woman from Ireland and appeared naked in front of two girls aged ten and eleven and masturbated in front of them. The negotiations in Braunschweig are expected to last until October.
Christian B. is not charged in the Maddie case - but is still suspected of being behind the girl's disappearance. It is the presumption of innocence. The then three-year-old British girl disappeared from a holiday resort in Portugal in 2007. German investigators now assume that the child is dead, although no body has yet been found.
