The average temperature of the last 12 months, from April 2023 to March 2024, is the highest ever recorded, 0.70°C above the 1991 - 2020 average and 1.68°C above the pre-industrial average. This was announced by the EU weather service, Copernicus. In the last 12 months, therefore, average global temperatures have exceeded the limit of 1.5°C from pre-industrial levels (the 1850-1900 average) set by the Paris Agreement of 2015 and the Glasgow COP26 of 2021.
