Alain Ribat, the general director of Transilien, the Ile-de-France entity of SNCF Voyageurs, is less well known than his RATP counterpart, former Prime Minister Jean Castex. But the man who took over from Sylvie Charles, of whom he was deputy, last September, nonetheless also has heavy responsibilities. As the Paris Olympics loom, with nearly a million additional passengers expected compared to a normal summer, the boss of Transilien assures that he is working hard to restore the service, in particular on the RER B, C and D.
