The start of the week in Bavaria begins with a warning: gusts of up to 100 km/h can occur on the edge of the Alps, according to the German Weather Service.

Bavaria - It's getting stormy in the Free State. The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued an official warning for Monday, April 8th: Strong gusts of wind and storms may occur in parts of Bavaria. The edge of the Alps is affected: Anyone who lives around Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bad Tölz and Bad Reichenhall should be prepared for a very stormy start to the week.

On the edge of the Alps: gusts of up to 100 km/h

For Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Bad Reichenhall, the warning for squalls applies from Monday, April 8th to Tuesday, April 9th, 12 p.m.: Above 1500 meters, squalls with speeds of up to 85 km/h will occur from the south . The German Weather Service warns that gusts of up to 100 km/h must be expected in exposed locations.

There is a danger from falling branches and flying objects, according to the DWD. The experts recommend securing free-standing objects and paying attention to falling objects outdoors.

The start of the week will also be windy around Bad Tölz: there is an official warning of wind gusts with speeds of up to 60 km/h from the south. The warning is currently in effect until Tuesday, April 9th, 12 p.m.
