Special envoy to Augusta
In 2024, the question is no longer whether Tiger Woods will win a sixth green jacket, but whether he will be able to finish the tournament. His ability to walk four laps on the hilly course of the Augusta National Golf Club raises questions. It's a sad reality, but, like Rafael Nadal in tennis, it is his medical report which now sets the pace for his life as a champion. Woods can still swing very well and pull some sublime shots out of his bag, but the physique is no longer keeping up.
The man with 15 Grand Slam titles, who struggles with a damaged body, did not speak with the media on Tuesday when talking about his ailments:
“
I hurt every day
(smile).
I play with painkillers. I no longer have ankle pain. She is welded. It is other parts of my body that must now suffer the consequences of my accident
(February 2021).
The back and knee are particularly affected.
