Highlights: Lucade Meo, Renault CEO, said this during the conference on 'Future methods and challenges between network development and growing global instability' organized by the Lombardy Region as part of the G7 transport conference in Milan. "I believe that what we are experiencing - he added - in the automotive sector we have not seen for at least a hundred years. All technologies are changing to electric. European industry is responding with strong investments," he said. "Fundamentally I believe that the Chinese have a generation advantage and therefore now we must fill this gap," said Meo. "The place to push the hardest on electric vehicles must be the cities," he added. "We are in a position to play a major role in the development of electric vehicles," said Renault's chief executive, Carlos Ghosn, in an interview with Automotive World. "This is a big opportunity for us," said Ghosnt, "and we need to take advantage of it. We need to make the most of it."
