Servers in the town and agglomeration of Saint-Nazaire, in Loire-Atlantique, were victims of a
“large-scale”
cyberattack during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.
“The origin of the
cyberattack
is unknown, as is the duration of the blockage,”
the city communicated on Wednesday on its website.
Since then, agents have been unreachable by telephone or email, and cannot access computer work files. However,
“the human remains there and people who have appointments remain welcomed
,” the communications department specifies in Le
Figaro
. Requests are written down in pen on paper and some services adapt. For example, at the media library, users could come and drop off a book but not borrow a new one.
Crisis unit
As a precaution, the tools are still blocked and a crisis unit meets twice a day to take stock, with experts. This Thursday at the end of the afternoon, new details should be published on the town hall website.
“The information systems department (DSI) agents are all mobilized to restore work tools and the secure network as quickly as possible
,” underlines the City.
Four other municipalities in the department were also affected by this phenomenon, such as La-Chapelle-des-Marais, Pornichet and Montoir-de-Bretagne where telephone calls work, as well as Donges where the town invites its users to postpone their
“administrative procedures”. at a later date"
. All use the same servers. Likewise, Sonadev (Nazairian development company) and ADDRN (Agency for the sustainable development of the Nazairian region) are impacted.
