Highlights: The new EQS 580 4Matic electric flagship highlights changes and details that elevate the status of this iconic model. The electric flagship goes from 717 to 799 km which means an increase in travel capacity of over 11%. Other technical innovations include a new special function that keeps the braking system active (by automatically applying force from time to time to the pads that push on the discs) A new system manages automatic lane changes on motorways with two structurally separated lanes with a speed limit of no more than 140 km/h. Mercedes‑Benz is now also offering a further development of SAE level 2 driver assistance systems in Europe. The new black radiator grille with chrome applications - which houses the vertical star - is characterized by the Electric Art Line with chrome-plated and flush-mounted slats that create an elegant contrast with the deep black grille. Mercedes-Benz already offers automatic lane changing for some model series in the United States and Canada. The responsibility for driving the vehicle remains with the driver.

A few days before the opening of Auto China 2024 in Beijing - where it will be the queen of the stand - Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new EQS 580 4Matic electric flagship which highlights changes and details that elevate the status of this iconic model. This is the case of the new black radiator grille with chrome applications - which houses the vertical star - characterized by the Electric Art Line with chrome-plated and flush-mounted slats that create an elegant contrast with the deep black grille.

EQS 580 4Matic in this revised edition is even more suitable for long distances thanks to the greater battery capacity (from 108.4 to 118 kWh) which offers up to 82 kilometers more autonomy. In detail, the electric flagship goes from 717 to 799 km which means an increase in travel capacity of over 11%.

Other technical innovations include a new special function that keeps the braking system active (by automatically applying force from time to time to the pads that push on the discs) to overcome the problems that in electric cars - such as the EQS 580 4Matic - arise from the use of the energy recovery and the resulting limited use of the brakes compared to combustion engine models.

Mercedes‑Benz is now also offering a further development of SAE level 2 driver assistance systems in Europe. A new system manages automatic lane changes on motorways with two structurally separated lanes with a speed limit of no more than 140 km/h .

Automatic lane changing is part of the Active Distance Assist Distronic with Active Steering Assist. If it encounters a slower vehicle ahead, the EQS 580 4Matic can initiate a lane change autonomously within a speed range of 80 to 140 km/h. And if the radars detect sufficient space and the lane markings are identified, it can overtake fully automatically.

The responsibility for driving the vehicle remains with the driver. Lane changes must therefore be monitored continuously. Mercedes‑Benz already offers automatic lane changing for some model series in the United States and Canada.
