Safety at work, the Commission takes office

Highlights: The study group on workplace safety regulations will be established on 26 April 2024. It was established by the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, with decree of 27 March 2024, in agreement with the Ministry of Labor and social policies, led by M. Elvira Calderone. "The Commission is entrusted with the mandate of analyzing the current regulatory and jurisprudential framework, verifying its limits, critical issues and prospects, and then formulating proposals for intervention", explains a note from the ministry. The study group will be chaired by Deputy Minister of justice Francesco PaoloSisto. It will be based in Rome and will have a five-year mandate. The first meeting will take place on March 27, 2024, and the second on March 28, 2024. The group will meet every two years until the end of 2024, with a final meeting on March 31, 2025, to discuss the future of workplace safety in Italy. It is expected to have a staff of around 100 people.
