"There are ongoing investigations into contracts and subcontracts, we have given a delegation for this. It is not that subcontracting in itself is a problem, it is a legal figure provided for by the civil code which is traditionally used to have specific personalities. It
must not be seen from a prejudicially negative perspective, the look towards skills must not be ideological. Here we will evaluate the conditions of the companies and whether everything has been done from a regulatory, prevention and accident prevention point of view".
The chief prosecutor of Bologna Giuseppe Amato said this during a press point on the Suviana massacre.
The prosecutor anticipated that it will not be necessary to seize the entire power plant: "only to acquire elements regarding the turbine, the alternator and other things, the seizure, if and when it is done, will concern the eighth and ninth floors". An autopsy will not be carried out on the bodies of the victims recovered so far: "Yesterday we assigned the task of an investigation (external, ed.) on the deceased people, with a double aim, the first to avoid carrying out useless autopsies, with unnecessary violence on the corpses of these poor people workers, on the other that of freeing the individual bodies as soon as possible to allow the family members to carry out the funerals".
As for the investigations, there will be a designated pool, with "specific delegations to each police force".
