Bayern Munich on Friday extended the contract of its goalkeeper Alexander Nübel (27) by four years until the summer of 2029, and subsequently extended the duration of his loan to Stuttgart by two seasons.
“I am very happy with this decision and the confidence that Bayern gives me, and at the same time I feel very good in Stuttgart
,” explained Alexander Nübel, quoted in the Bavarian club's press release.
Recruited in the summer of 2020 by Bayern, Nübel only played four matches in Munich colors during his first season, then was loaned to Monaco during the 2021/22 and 2022/23 financial years, before joining Stuttgart, still on loan this season. His contract in Munich expired in the summer of 2025 and was extended until 2029.
He is announced as the successor in goal for Bayern Munich to Manuel Neuer (38), who extended his contract until the summer of 2025.
Brilliant since the start of the season with the Swabian club, Nübel is one of the architects of the beautiful 3rd place currently occupied by Stuttgart, with his sights set on participation in the next Champions League (seven points ahead of 5th place with six days remaining).
“He has developed incredibly in recent years and is one of the best goalkeepers in Germany. In Stuttgart, he will be able to accumulate playing time continuously at a high level
,” underlined Bayern sporting director Max Eberl.
