How do you grow a plant from a pineapple top?

Follow these steps to transform the top of your pineapple into a beautiful exotic plant.

  • Start by

    carefully detaching the stem

    from the rest of the pineapple;

  • Next, carefully remove all the leaves at the base of the stem as well as the first large leaves at the bottom. This step is crucial to prepare the stem to develop new roots;

  • Place the stem in a glass filled with water. Make sure only the base of the stem is submerged;

  • Leave the stem in water for a few weeks until roots begin to form. Change the water regularly to prevent mold or bacteria from forming;

  • Once the roots have reached

    sufficient length,

    it is time to move on to planting;

  • Fill a pot with fertile potting soil. Make sure the pot has good drainage to avoid water stagnation;

  • Make a small hole in the center of the potting soil and carefully insert the rooted pineapple shoot;

  • Water the plant immediately after planting, making sure to

    wet the soil

    from above;

  • Continue to water the plant regularly, keeping the potting soil moist but not overwatering, to encourage healthy, robust growth.
