After the Colosseum, the Uffizi and the Academy of Florence! With the record influx of visitors to Italy, museum ticket scams are flourishing. Last week, the Finance Guard - the customs and financial police - of Florence arrested four street vendors, employees of travel agencies or platforms, in the entry queues at the Offices, who were trying to sell tickets at prices sometimes twice those normally indicated by the Ministry of Culture, claiming a vague queue-cut.
The police confiscated 58 tickets for the Academia at a price of 25 euros each compared to an official price of 16 euros. And 16 tickets for the Uffizi at the price of 40 euros, instead of the 26 euros planned.
