The community of Pullach has been working on a new youth leisure center for years. For years, the CSU, WiP and FDP have found the plans oversized. Now a decision has been made.

- Now the administration and architect have cut the building by five meters and removed storage rooms for the community. Now the preliminary planning has been approved by the local council with a vote of 12:6 after endless preliminary rounds. At the CSU, however, Sebastian Westenthanner and Benno Schroeder voted for the plan, only Christine Eisenmann was still against it.
Around 100 listeners are excited
The meeting room in the town hall has rarely been so well attended. Around 100 listeners, children and young people from the football club, some in jerseys, scouts, leisure center visitors, as well as parents, coaches and the leisure center team came. “We want this to be built,” said a boy of about seven. Every now and then the visitors clapped when a local councilor spoke out in favor of the project. Until Mayor Susanna Thousandfreund (Green Party) banned clapping.
Criticism of oversized planning
In the meantime, you could almost recite what comes from the factions in the local council by heart. At every meeting, when it comes to the project, which always found a majority, the WiP representatives note that they “have nothing against the young people”, but that they find the building too big. Cornelia Zechmeister: “Everything has to be measured and targeted,” with 1,800 square meters for the leisure center would be overshooting the mark. She also didn't like the fact that photovoltaic panels were mounted on the flat roof. “It's not that exciting.” Her parliamentary group colleague Angelika Metz said: “The leisure center is a waterhead, maybe we should look at the money a bit.” She also spoke out in favor of a caretaker's apartment in the building, the stick riflemen giving up their courses Needs for the new building, but which are given new space, “cannot simply be erased”.
The project is expected to cost 11.4 million euros
Michael Reich (FDP) found it a “satire” that the building was reduced in size but still more expensive - the community wants to meet special sustainability criteria in order to receive additional funding. The project is now on paper at 11.4 million, including the outdoor facilities that will be renovated, including the rooms for the boy scouts, the girls and the changing rooms. The athletes' changing rooms are now on the other side of the track.
Investing in youth
As in the last meetings, the SPD, the Greens and Pullach Plus supported the project, Fabian Müller-Klug from the Greens: The building, which will be a hybrid of concrete skeleton and wood, is “architecturally attractive” and “open to the future”, they would use it the young people in the town “don’t hide anymore”. The costs are high, but worth it. Caroline Veit, Pullach Plus: “Every cent we invest there is well invested.” For the SPD, on whose initiative the new building was based, Holger Ptacek said: “We very much welcome this planning.”
In the meantime, because the discussion lasted two hours, some of the children had left. Malena Paula and Alexa Schlindwein, the managers of the leisure center, were also in the audience. They said: “Everyone is really looking forward to the project, the leisure center should be a place for encounters and education” – among other things, holiday care will also take place there. The two also emphasized that the building was “definitely not too big”.
