Since September 25, 2023,
Émilien
has surprised viewers by appearing on the “Douze coups de midi” set. This Friday, April 12, the show broadcast on TF1 will mark the 200 participations and victories of the young Vendéen. At the age of 21, the history student was able to accumulate 854,941 euros in winnings, and climb to second place in the ranking of the best Midday Masters.
Before this issue of April 11, only two Masters were ahead of him. The second in this ranking, Éric, had amassed 921,316 euros in 199 participations. The number one remains Bruno Hourcade, nicknamed “Fifou Dingo”, who managed to win €1,026,107 during 252 participations, between January and October 2021.
Even the presenter, Jean-Luc Reichmann, praises his success in the columns of
TV Magazine. “It’s wonderful to see young people like him, polite, cultured, who have a smile,”
assures the host. And to continue:
“the leitmotif of all these Midday Masters is curiosity. Even at 20 years old, they have this concern to seek out information when they do not have the solution. Émilien deserves respect.”
The success of Émilien le Vendéen, as Jean-Luc Reichmann nicknames him, is also due to his will: this is the second time that the student has tried his luck at “Douze coups de midi”, after an attempt at “Questions for a champion. The native of Péault remembers this journey at
Télé Star
:
“
I participated in Questions pour un champion, without success since I failed in the final face-to-face.”
The young man owes this success in part to his family. His grandmother Yvonne was the one who convinced him to apply again for “Les deux coups de midi”, a show of which she is a fan. Introverted by nature, Émilien also relies on the presence of those close to him. In the Plaine Saint-Denis studio, his partner, his father-in-law and his mother are often present to support him.
