Yvelines: the A86 duplex blocked… by a horse

2024-04-12T08:31:21.083Z

Highlights: A horse escaped from its enclosure on the Nationale 12 on Thursday afternoon. The animal then wandered onto the A86 near Jouy-en-Josas, in the direction of Vaucresson. He then rushed into the duplex of the A87, which has a ceiling height of 2.55m. The horse was only slightly injured, having slipped several times on the road. He was immediately returned to his owner who took him to a veterinarian. The operation was managed by “general” firefighters. But the Yvelines departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis) has a cell specializing in the capture of various animals, from horses to tarantulas, including snakes and sheep. It saved a horse that had fallen into the swimming pool of a property near Rambouillet on February 9 to 10. It was able to be calmed and then brought under control by the firefighters, who are often called upon for delicate interventions. It is not known why the horse escaped its enclosure.

A horse that escaped from its enclosure first wandered onto the Nationale 12 on Thursday afternoon before rushing into the duplex on the A86. He was mastered

Funny scene Thursday midday on the A86 motorway. Traffic was blocked for several tens of minutes because of… a horse. The animal, escaping from its enclosure, first wandered along the N 12, trotting in the middle of the tracks towards Paris. It miraculously did not cause any accidents.

Then, and for a mysterious reason, he rushed into the duplex of the A86 near Jouy-en-Josas (Yvelines), in the direction of Vaucresson. The narrowness of this “tube”, which has a ceiling height of 2.55 m and is not recommended for claustrophobics, did not discourage the horse, who entered it without fear, causing great mayhem. Alerted by motorists, rescuers and the road manager decided to close traffic in order to capture the horse safely.

Returned to its slightly injured owner

It was able to be calmed and then brought under control by the firefighters. He was only slightly injured, having slipped several times on the road. He was immediately returned to his owner who took him to a veterinarian.
