Part sedan and part crossover, the key word for the Citroën C4 X is comfort, even if it doesn't lack sprint either. We got behind the wheel of the Citroën C4 The new rear part is streamlined and includes a smaller door, which does not include the rear window but opens onto a large trunk (510 litres).
Numbers in hand, the C4 In practice, those of a vehicle that aims for the comfort of an SUV but the style of a sedan, in a 'raised' version.
The result is that of a bar that raises the bar in terms of elegance, but with the limits of an 'independent' boot.
The proportions of the C4 X remain muscular thanks to the wheel arches as well as the front recess. If the eye is satisfied by the numerous stylish details, the functionality is no less thanks, on the one hand, to the contrasting detail elements that make it more captivating and on the other to the LED matrix headlights, with the split line that it makes it more elegant above and more aggressive below, to capture attention at first glance.
The interior of the C4 The covering materials are mostly rigid with an alternation of simple and machined plastics in the upper part of the dashboard.
There are also no changes in the equipment: the instrumentation is digital and all the car's parameters can be controlled from the 10" central infotainment display, apart from the climate control. Knobs and buttons, however, are located immediately below.
Behind the wheel, the sense of comfort and 'lightness' is the most appreciated sensation. Handy and stable even on rough roads, the C4 The C4 car. The 1.2 turbo pushes the right amount and the eight-speed automatic transmission supports it with quick and imperceptible shifts.
The only real distinctive point compared to its sister C4 is essentially the 'tail', which comes with a boot that has a non-electric tailgate. Also noteworthy is the step created between the threshold and the loading floor. Even the shape of the entrance compartment is not the most useful for storing luggage, especially if it is heavy. The space in depth, however, is an added value.
There are four trim levels available, from the base Feel which has dual-zone climate control, fog lights and the Safety package with automatic emergency braking as standard, as well as an involuntary lane change warning.
As the level increases, the equipment becomes increasingly complete, with the top of the range Shine Pack (the one we tested) which also includes the head up display, 10" infotainment and a complete suite of driving assistants.
