Günther Jauch has experienced all sorts of things on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Now a candidate's lack of knowledge of music upset him.

Cologne – At the Easter special of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” (April 1st), some candidates once again had the chance to win a windfall. Karin Baffour from Ingolstadt was one of them. The university lecturer for language technology and terminology faced the tricky questions and put on a confident performance - but of all things, a hit question caused her to falter - and Günther Jauch (67) was upset.

Günther Jauch is amazed: “Who wants to be a millionaire?” candidate stumbles when asked the hit question

The “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidates recently had some interesting things to report from the world of pop. One narrowly missed a night with Florian Silbereisen, while another had a fun evening with Udo Jürgens. Karin Baffour, on the other hand, has nothing to do with the pop world, which is also evident in a question.

“Who hasn't appeared in the German single charts with a duet yet? A: Mark Forster & Lena, B: Andreas Bourani & Sido, C: Udo Lindenberg & Clueso, D: Roland Kaiser & Maite Kelly,” Jauch wants to know for 16,000 euros. Baffour is faced with a puzzle and even uses an audience joker. His answer is quite clear: 82 percent vote for “A: Mark Forster & Lena”.

“Then my tendency would have been wrong,” the candidate then admits. “Mine was actually more like D, Roland Kaiser and Maite Kelly.” When he hears that, Günther Jauch can hardly believe his ears, opens his eyes and sucks in his breath. There is also laughter in the audience - after all, Roland Kaiser (71) and Maite Kelly (44) scored a mega hit with their duet “Why didn't you say no?” “Shut up!” (German: “Shut up!”), Jauch even warned the indignant audience.

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate has never heard of Roland Kaiser and Maite Kelly’s hit

When it comes to the denouement, Günther Jauch lists the corresponding songs and particularly highlights the hit: “Roland Kaiser and Maite Kelly – 'Why didn't you say no',” he explains. But nothing seems to ring a bell for his candidate. “It’s not my style of music, I can’t know,” says Karin Baffour.

Ultimately, it's not the hit that brings the mother of two down, but rather the football. When asked the 32,000 euro question, she falls back to 16,000 and still takes this proud sum home with her. But not only Karin Baffour, but also another “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate stunned Günther Jauch – she was questioned by Interpol.
