Herrsching celebrates himself

2024-04-13T07:12:22.387Z

Highlights: The Herrsching community's annual reception on Thursday was a premiere in several respects. Wigald Boning surprised people with Schubert's “Bliss” as piano accompaniment for his wife, the opera singer Teresa Boning. Mona-Lisa Schwarzmaier, a kindergarten teacher, caused a real surprise in the hall with her voice and musicality. A surprise for the mayor was a gift from Max Hauser, former coach and now manager of the WWK volleyball players. The relationship between the community and volleyball players was not always cordial after the volleyball players were denied a hall on Seefelder Straße that was suitable for the Bundesliga. The mayor knew that Hauser's "heartfelt wish since childhood” was to play in the large, sufficiently high hall once in his life. He invited his son Felix onto the stage, who is one of the best in his age group in his karate group. He is currently preparing to qualify for the Iron Man in Hawaii.

And once again Mayor Christian Schiller transformed the stage in the House of Bavarian Agriculture into a show stage for the Herrsching community's annual reception. Accompanied by Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now", he stormed the stage in white sneakers to greet guests such as Wigald and Teresa Boning and violinist Arabella Steinbacher.

Herrsching - For TV comedian and author Wigald Boning, a new citizen of Herrsching, the community's annual reception on Thursday was a premiere in several respects. “I have never been to an event of this kind before,” he answered the host, Mayor Christian Schiller, honestly surprised when asked whether he had ever taken part in an annual reception. In fact, there is hardly a second annual reception like this in a community. Because the House of Bavarian Agriculture once again became a large show stage for Schiller and his guests. The “Schiller Show” is a household name in Herrsching. This is also worth a five-figure sum to the local council. This time there: Wigald Boning, who surprised people with Schubert's “Bliss” as piano accompaniment for his wife, the opera singer Teresa Boning. “A world premiere,” said Schiller happily.

But the evening offered a few more surprises: Newcomer Mona-Lisa Schwarzmaier, for example, who prefers her stage name Mona-Lisa Maxim when performing, but is otherwise employed by the Herrsching community as a kindergarten teacher. She has already demonstrated her talent at the community Christmas party and caused a real surprise in the hall with her voice and musicality.

This was also given by the fire department when Christian Münch (49) reported on his first mission. He joined the Herrschinger troupe after moving to Ammersee in April 2021. The head of the event agency “planworx” thought that after a lot of good things had happened to him, he wanted to give something back. And the first mission with the volunteer fire department left lasting memories, not only because there was a seriously injured person, but also a commander Daniel Pleyer, who hurled one command after another at the overwhelmed newcomer. “I thought to myself, I'm working here and he's standing there.” The next day he realized that in that moment he had experienced what good leadership was, said Münch. This experience turned into a collaboration that is now being published as a book entitled “Leadership with Fire and Flame” – with Münch and Pleyer as co-authors.

A surprise for Schiller was a gift from Max Hauser, former coach and now manager of the WWK volleyball players. The Herrschingers only lost in the DVV Cup final in Mannheim in front of 13,000 spectators. However, the final alone was a success. Hauser had the silver medal framed and presented it to Schiller so that it could be hung in the town hall. The mayor didn't expect that. The relationship between the community and volleyball players was not always cordial after the volleyball players were denied a hall on Seefelder Straße that was suitable for the Bundesliga.

This time Schiller had Dr. Tanja Firgau, head of the financial college in Herrsching, sat next to Hauser. The mayor knew that Hauser's “heartfelt wish since childhood” was to play in the large, sufficiently high hall once in his life. Tanja Firgau didn't want to go too far - "I have to ask my administrative manager first," but she didn't seem reluctant. What was more fitting than the triumphant entry of the “King of Ammersee” alias Alexander Tropschug, the volleyball hall spokesman, whose appearance also amazed Wigald Boning, at the latest when the entire hall, including district administrator Stefan Frey, practiced the hip swing that the fans of the GCDW perform in the stands when points are won.

Schiller became excited when he invited his son Felix onto the stage, who did sensationally well at the triathlon in Roth last June and is one of the ten best in the world in his age group (20 to 24 years). He is currently preparing to qualify for the Iron Man in Hawaii. He was honored just like the world champions from the Herrschinger Sailing Club, the promoted handball players from TSV Herrsching and the footballers from Sportfreunde Breitbrunn, the karatekas from the 1st Budo Club Herrsching and Angelina Igl, who completed her training as a vehicle mechatronics technician as the best in Bavaria . At the end there was a musical treat awaiting them all, which Schiller rightly announced as a major highlight: Arabella Steinbacher on her Stradivarius from 1718.

She is one of the leading soloists and she is from Herrsching. Her agency has saved a place in the world-famous violinist's busy schedule for the annual reception. Accompanied by Kazue Weber-Tsuzuki, she touched the audience with, among other things, Fritz Kreisler's “Praeludium and Allegro” and received a standing ovation.
