Elton has to cast his “Beat the Star” scepter on ProSieben face Matthias Opdenhövel. A hard blow for the entertainer - now his celebrity colleagues are commenting on the sudden end of the show.
Munich - On April 10th it was surprisingly announced that Matthias Opdenhövel (53) would take over the moderation of “Schlag den Star” in the future. After Stefan Raab's (57) TV exit, the show, which previously began as "Schlag den Raab", was renamed "Schlag den Star" - the moderation has been held by Elton (53) since 2016. But that's over now - and the celebrity landscape doesn't really like it.
“I hug you”: Celebrity colleagues support Elton after “Schschlag den Star”-Aus
In an Instagram post, Elton confirmed the rumors about his “Beat the Star” exit. In this, the entertainer emphasizes that he did not give up the “wonderful show voluntarily” and only found out about it through media reports. His management then contacted ProSieben and they were then informed that he would no longer act as the format's showmaster in the future. After more than 23 years of participation in the show, this was a rude rebuff for the 53-year-old.

His social media post, in which he expressed his disappointment, received a lot of support from fans and celebrity friends. “You definitely don’t deserve to be treated like this after 23 years of working together,” comments “Who knows something like that?” colleague Kai Pflaume (56), among others. Wigald Boning (57) tries to give Elton comfort with just a few words. “I hug you!” says the 57-year-old.
“I definitely won’t come now”: Disappointment with Elton’s sudden “Beat the Star” ending
Other showbiz colleagues express their sympathy for Elton and make it clear that they cannot understand how the former “Beat the Star” presenter is treated in this way. “I always ask myself why it is so difficult to deal with people in a transparent, open, honest and, above all, appreciative way. I'm sorry, dear Elton, that things turned out so carelessly. Big hug and cheers,” writes Nina Moghaddam (43) and Sonya Kraus (50) can’t help but add a few words to Elton’s statement: “My darling! They're all crazy! The show without you? I definitely won't come now. Love you."
Most recently, Elton appeared in Stefan Raab's comeback videos. In it, the former “TV total” presenter announced that he would return for a boxing match against Regina Halmich (47). “The Final Fight: Regina Halmich vs. Stefan Raab” will take place on September 14, 2024 at the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf
