2024-04-14T03:02:51.528Z

Highlights: “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ presenter Günther Jauch made a joke in the studio. He advised Kathrin Kontari to question everyone in the audience about her joker options. The 67-year-old received loud boos from the guests from the corresponding audience rank. He even had an idea as to how the audience joker could be handled ‘better’ in the future, he suggested. He continued to tease the TV guests, but they also showed a sense of humor and joined in the laughter after the boos. The contestant took the Joker's advice and decided to poll the entire audience. The clear result: 93 percent advised her to answer B: credit agency – the correct answer, as it turned out. It was the second time in a row that a woman had been booed by the audience on the popular TV show. The first time was when a man was booed for a joke he made about a woman.

Günther Jauch actually just wanted to advise his “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate about her joker options – but in doing so he alienated the audience.

Hürth – “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” presenter Günther Jauch (67) is not only very well known in Germany – he is also quite popular. But with a joke in the studio, the TV star risked losing the sympathy of his audience. He even received boos.

After making a joke about the TV audience: Günther Jauch is booed on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”

First, candidate Kathrin Kontari's “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” quiz master Günther Jauch was able to impress with a special love story - but then she was completely stumped when it came to the 8,000 euro question. “What type of company is used to check the creditworthiness of potential customers? A: contact agency, B: credit agency, C: reporting agency or D: reporting agency,” was the question – and a joker was needed. While the city planner would have preferred the additional joker, Günther Jauch advised her to question everyone in the audience.

“I don't want to offend the majority here, but the additional joker, if one person stands up, is generally more valuable than if everyone votes,” he explained - especially because he found the question to be quite simple. Nobody in the audience took offense at this statement, but then he followed up. “I believe that swarm intelligence is sufficient for the question,” said the TV star, before adding after an artistic pause: “Well, at least in that block.” The result: loud boos from the guests from the corresponding audience rank, which Günther Jauch responded to imitated himself.

“Then let’s see where the stupid ones are”: Günther Jauch has a new joker idea for WWM

While the audience in the studio was less enthusiastic about the joke, the 67-year-old could hardly contain his laughter. He even had an idea as to how the audience joker could be handled “better” in the future. “In the future we'll do it like this - we'll first vote in the block and then everything will be saved and then we'll see where the stupid ones are sitting,” he suggested and continued to tease the TV guests. But they also showed a sense of humor and joined in the laughter after the boos.

Ultimately, the contestant took the Joker's advice and decided to poll the entire audience. The clear result: 93 percent advised her to answer B: credit agency – the correct answer, as it turned out. Günther Jauch has already had a bad time with a woman in the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” audience.
