Shock for the rap superstar: There was a fire on the grounds of Capital Bra's house. The musician assumes a targeted attack. Nobody got hurt.
Potsdam - There was a fire on the premises of Rapstar Capital Bra in Brandenburg - the police are investigating. The musician reported that his wife's car burned down, but nothing happened to him and his family. “Tonight my wife’s car was torched right next to my house,” said the Berlin German rapper on Instagram. “They wanted to attack exactly the house.” He said: “It doesn’t matter who it was: (...) Everything comes back, remember that!”
But he gave the all-clear: “Thank God no one was injured or anything happened.” Smoke had come into his daughter’s room. Capital Bra is one of the most successful rappers of recent years - for example with the song "110". The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported on the fire.
Police: “Everything else is under investigation”
Police confirmed that there was a fire on the premises of an artist's house. “Everything else is the subject of the investigation,” said a spokesman. Nobody was injured. There were initially no further details. The spokesman referred to the Potsdam public prosecutor's office for further information. According to their own statements, the police are still in the middle of the investigation. According to information from the German Press Agency, Capital Bra lives in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district.
The musician spoke up on Sunday in a video on Instagram in which a burned-out car can be seen - just a wreck. There he also shows a video of three men standing at a fence. One of them obviously starts a fire.
The “Bild” newspaper quoted the rapper: “If I had slept, then we might all be dead,” said Capital Bra. “My wife ran outside crying.” The roof also caught fire.
Lots of encouragement from the internet
Capital Bra received encouragement from hundreds of fans online. “A lot of power, bro,” wrote one fan. But the rap star is also controversial. He repeatedly has a highly publicized argument with rapper Bushido, even though both of them used to share a common musical path.
The Ukrainian-born rapper is a top star. He released numerous songs that were number 1 in the German charts. He topped the list of top artists on the audio streaming service Spotify in 2019 and 2020. For example, he was a chart-topper with the joint album “Deutschrap Brandneu” with Farid Bang. Capital Bra, whose real name is Vladislav Balovatsky, was born on November 23, 1994 in Siberia, Russia. The family later moved to Berlin-Hohenschönhausen, where he spent part of his childhood and youth.
Not just in the headlines because of his music
In the past, Capital Bra has not only been in the headlines for his music. In 2019, shortly before his 25th birthday, he got into trouble because he was threatened. The Berlin public prosecutor's office had announced that an investigation was underway into attempted predatory blackmail. In an Instagram video, the rapper said about his opponents at the time: “They want me to stop making music, they are attacking me because I simply earn millions and they don’t get anything from it.” At the same time, he assured his fans: “Thank you with all my heart, I won’t let anyone get me down.”
