Official communication tools in Iran broadcast tonight (Sunday) gatherings of regime supporters in Tehran and other cities, where they celebrated the unprecedented attack on Israel. Some of the demonstrators carried Hezbollah and Palestinian flags.
A sign was hung on a building in Tehran that read in Hebrew "Your next mistake will be the end of your fake country", next to illustrations of missiles in the background of a torn Israeli flag, and the Minister of Defense posted on X a picture of him pointing to the map of the area where Israel is highlighted in red, next to the name of the operation: The real promise."
The official television even tried to brag about the vulnerability deep in Israel, and showed old documents from other events in the world. The IDF emphasized this morning that contrary to Tehran's claims, the air force base in Nabatim suffered only minor damage and continues to function as normal.
While in Iran they tried to convey a message according to which the event is over for them if Israel does not respond, many residents fear its response that will exacerbate the escalation. Shortly after the start of the attack yesterday, there were queues at gas stations in the capital Tehran, to which flights were canceled by many international airlines.
Opponents of the Iranian regime were quick to condemn the attack on Israel and warned of its consequences for the public.
"Now, when they celebrate the attacks on Israel, it is clear that they have no sympathy for the suffering they are causing," wrote the exiled women's rights activist Mesia Alinejad in X. "I dream of the day when Iran and the Middle East will be free from the suffocation of war and tyranny. This will not happen unless we get rid of the war-mongering regime in Iran."
