Giovanni Zarrella has to say goodbye to a beloved TV project. In his Instagram stories, the pop star explains why he has to take this drastic step.
Cologne – Giovanni Zarrella (46) is a very busy man: he was just on stage as a mystery in “The Masked Singer”, now he is rehearsing for the upcoming “Giovanni Zarrella Show” on May 4th. In between, he is still busy promoting his summer tour, has already announced various other TV appearances and is currently recording his new album in the recording studio. So that he still has time for his family, the pop star now has to pull the ripcord.
Giovanni Zarrella announces surprising end of show: “Sad decision”
“All of these things have led me to a sad decision – a sad decision for me personally,” announces Giovanni Zarrella in his new Instagram story. The pop star sits casually in the car with sunglasses and a leather jacket and explains to his fans: “In my world it's like this: If I do something, I do it with 100 percent. 100 percent love, attention and passion. And this 100 percent has definitely been achieved for the next few months.” Above all, he wants to continue to be there for his family. “That is the most important thing,” emphasizes Giovanni Zarrella.
That's why he contacted the "The Voice of Germany" team a few days ago with a "heavy heart" and canceled the upcoming season. “I would like to thank everyone again from the whole team. “I had one of the best experiences of my life with Voice last year and maybe again next year or sometime in the next few years, but it’s impossible to go all-in this year too,” says Giovanni Zarrella.
A return to “The Voice of Germany” cannot be ruled out. Giovanni Zarrella also wants to continue to be there for his talents, as he promises.

Because Giovanni Zarrella is a “child of casting” himself, as he emphasizes: “I also became known through a casting show and came to the big stages, back in 2001 with Popstars. And that's why I know exactly what it feels like to go into a casting like that. I will continue to support my talents."
He has already gotten one or two talents a record deal. In addition, some talents will accompany him on his tour and “perhaps be seen in the next Giovanni Zarrella show,” as the pop star reveals. “A big hug again to the entire team at 'The Voice of Germany'. I loved it and of course I’ll take a look again this year,” finally promises Giovanni Zarrella.
