The drama took place early in the afternoon, around 2:29 p.m. Sunday, on Truc Vert beach in Cap Ferret. Having gone swimming in an unsupervised area despite the
“maximum risk”
announced by the Gironde prefecture due to strong baïnes, a forty-year-old drowned in one of them.
The victim was pulled out of the water by witnesses while a family called for help. A firefighter vehicle, the rescue boat and the Dragon 33 helicopter were engaged to quickly find this 41-year-old man who had disappeared in the bay.
“When we arrived, he had been taken out of the water by witnesses, he was in cardiorespiratory arrest. He underwent resuscitation but died
,” the Gironde firefighters explained to our AFP colleagues. Died despite the cardiopulmonary massage given to him by the emergency services, the forty-year-old was from the Paris region.
