The first marked path in the area called "La via dei chairiri" was inaugurated in Serrastretta - a mountain center in the Reventino-Mancuso area. Over 150 people, coming from all over Calabria, met in the town responding to the invitation of the Edrevia association and the Italian Alpine Club. Present among others were the mayor Antonio Muraca, the president of Edrevia Giuseppe Paletta, the president of the Alpine Club of Catanzaro Piergiorgio Iannacchero and the writer and naturalist Francesco Bevilacqua.

The path starts from the main square of Serrastretta, which is located 800 meters above sea level and crosses the historic center where the workshops of the chair masters exist, one of the historical activities of Serrastretta. In the upper part of the town the path begins its climb towards Colle di Pica, an exceptionally panoramic ridge which, to the north, shows the entire Conca di Decollatura and the Sila. It then continues up to the Pietre delle Quadarelle, a very suggestive and also panoramic rock complex where prehistoric graffiti in the shape of cupels have been found (now discovered and studied by archaeologists Dario Sigari, Ginevra Gaglianese and Antonio Montesanti) in various areas between Serrastretta, Decollatura and Carlopoli and having cult functions for the Neolithic populations who inhabited these places. The route then reaches the summit of Monte Condrò (1198 m) and descends into the heart of the Condrò beech forest, a large monumental forest among the most beautiful in Calabria, and then ends at the Condrò Pass.

During the event, which led the entire group to walk along the path, demonstrations were given of the ancient practice of building the typical Serrastretta wicker chairs (still today there are several carpentry workshops and small industries in the sector in the town), and stories were told the places with their landscapes and their stories.

Edrevia (the name takes inspiration from the book of the same name by Stefano Mancuso, who calls it 'the tribe of trees' and who studies the intelligence of plants) is an association now very active in the field of trekking, outdoor, hospitality, cultural promotion, exploration and knowledge of the territory. The association's hiking and cultural program can be found on the website viaggioincalabria.it (made in collaboration with Rubbettino Editore).
