A new intimidating and arson attack took place in
a refrigerator in Coto, in Rosario
. Two people on a motorcycle arrived at one of the truck entrance doors and threw
bottles of fuel
. After the escape, they left an intimidating message, which was not made known.
Last night's attack
is the sixth perpetrated this month
with links to a fierce union internal conflict involving the Rosario meat union.
This last event took place on Sunday night, around 9:30 p.m., in the Saladillo Sur neighborhood. There, in Gutiérrez at 300 bis, at the Coto refrigerator facilities, two people on a motorcycle arrived and threw two bottles of fuel (
Molotov cocktails
) against the gate where trucks usually enter, according to
La Capital
. Before leaving they left an intimidating message.
The violent act is not an isolated event. Last Tuesday,
Mattievich's refrigerators in Villa Gobernador Gálvez and the Coto that was attacked last night
were shot a few minutes apart. On both sides, almost a carbon copy: the Police collected the same ballistic material and notes with intimidating messages. Both linked to threats to the meat sector.
These shooting attacks occurred 48 hours after the arson attack
against a truck that was about to enter the Swift refrigerator
in Villa Gobernador Gálvez. There, two people riding a motorcycle threw a homemade explosive device, which hit the back of the truck's chassis, setting it on fire.
The violent saga started at the beginning of the month with a double attack: in Rosario and Villa Gobernador Gálvez
The saga of vandalism began at the beginning of the month, when on April 3 they attacked the front of the headquarters of the Meat Union, located on Av. Fausta at 5300, with shots and Molotov cocktails. In that place, two individuals mobilized in a motorcycle were filmed by security cameras, shooting at the union headquarters and setting the door of the place on fire.
Minutes later, the target of the attack was one in the parking lot of the Paladini refrigerator, located in Villa Gobernador Gálvez. There, unknown persons threw a Molotov cocktail on several motorcycles that were in the establishment and two of them ended up destroyed.
At that time, José Fantini, general secretary of the Meat Union, denied that it was a union internal: "We here do not have any type of internal, we had elections recently, and there has been no opposition in Rosario for five periods. No. We know where it comes from because they don't ask us for anything," he had said. However, the attacks continued and it was unofficially learned that messages signed by "the new management" were left.
