Grant Kardon: The importance of small successes along the way and the challenge of turning ideas into reality

Grant Cardone/Cardone Training Technologies, Inc.

At the beginning of the conference, Grant Kardon provided his life lesson: "It is important to achieve small and quick successes along the way - these successes give us the motivation for the big successes."

Cardon, the founder of the world's largest business conference, is a self-made billionaire from the lowest place. He was orphaned by his father at a young age, became addicted to drugs and was involved in daily conflicts somewhere in Arizona, until he decided to make a significant change in his life, which eventually led to the establishment of a real estate empire worth over 5 billion dollars.

"Your ideas will attract a lot of opposition, because people are afraid of change And new things," Cardon explains. "We need to be committed to our ideas and our success. To do this we need to take responsibility for the necessary actions, build a plan, and execute it. The responsibility is on us. There are many people with ideas, and few who do anything with them. The challenge is to turn the idea into reality through infinite actions. Our ability to turn an idea into reality is what will determine success."

Mike Tyson, the boxing legend: about the mentors in his life and the hatred of losing that keeps us from achieving

One of the most impressive moments at the conference was when the boxing legend, Mike Tyson, took the stage. We all remember Tyson from the successful boxing fights, the one who wins every fight without mercy, but his career didn't always look like that. In reality Tyson tried and failed many times.

Tyson talked about the importance of getting guidance from someone with experience. He met his first mentor at the age of 13, who recognized his talent, convinced me to go professional boxing and actually gave him an opportunity that changed his life.

"Discipline is doing the things you don't want to do, and doing it like you love it, without giving up," Tyson said at the conference and told how every time he failed in life, he waited for an opportunity to improve and try again, until he succeeded. According to him, his success was based on the fact that he wanted to succeed more than he was afraid to fail.

"You have to understand that many times we are more afraid of the consequences of failure than we want to experience success. We are afraid that our confidence will decrease, that we will be angry with ourselves, that we will receive negative criticism from friends and the environment, and that all of this will put us in a worse situation than we were. This is a mistake," said Tyson.

Tyson tries to stay away from losers and people who have no aspirations to succeed. "If people don't have goals in life, and you don't have shared goals and objectives, why are they in your life? Most people don't think big enough, and therefore don't achieve extraordinary things. Wherever you go, leave and give more than you get," Tyson summed up his approach to life.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: From Austria after World War II to the heights of Hollywood, despite a heavy accent and few chances

Towards the end of the conference and to the surprise of the large crowd, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor and former governor of California, took the stage. Although he seems to have always been a Hollywood star, Schwarzenegger's story includes a lot of faith and perseverance.

Schwarzenegger came to the U.S. from Austria, where he grew up in the post-World War II era, without much money and with few prospects. "No one is waiting for you there," friends and family told him, when he told them of his plans, but Schwarzenegger didn't listen to criticism. From a young age He set goals for himself and imagined how he would achieve his goals, stand on stages and win awards. Every training he did, brought him closer to the goal.

Schwarzenegger said that when he wanted to integrate into the film industry, all the agents and managers he spoke to told him that he had such a heavy and dimensional Austrian accent. Such huge bodies, he has no chance. So he studied English 5 hours a day, to fulfill his dream.

Schwarzenegger said that his best bet was always on himself. In all his films, he was always ready to give up a salary for a percentage of the income, because he believed in himself And in his marketing abilities.

This is not the only difficulty that Schwarzenegger faced as someone who came from a very poor family. Schwarzenegger had a sense for investments and money management from a young age. Even before he started his acting career, he invested his money in the world of real estate Made him a wealthy man, even before he stepped on a stage in his life.

His first investment was decades ago when he saved $27,500 and bought a 6-apartment building with them. Within two years he made a profit of 200 thousand dollars and sold the building. He transferred the money to the next investment - a building with 12 housing units. After two years, he already purchased a building with 3 times as many units, and as time went by, he increased his holdings and investments.

All of these were the result of careful planning carried out by Schwarzenegger, according to him, so that he would not be forced to take junior roles in the cinema, because he aimed for leading roles. Throughout his career, he continued to invest the money he earned in real estate and carefully choose the films in which he participated.

Tim Gruber, coach of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant: develop a positive obsession and do not avoid stressful situations

"Obsession with goals helps you push the limits of your ability," said Tim Gruber, the fitness coach of basketball legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, at the conference. According to him, only obsessed people manage to change the world.

"Elon Musk didn't want to make an electric car, he was obsessed with it. Jeff Bezos didn't just want to make delivery companies redundant, he was obsessed with it. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan didn't just want to play basketball, they were addicted to the game. Be obsessed with everything you want to achieve, don't just wish or hope it will come true. Push forward your limits, find what motivates and excites you, what turns you on and makes you act and grow," Grover urged the audience.

"Don't be satisfied with a balance that leads to mediocrity. Look for the pressure," urged Gruber and explained: "Pressure defines us. When we act under pressure, we are the most authentic. Those who succeed in acting under pressure and deal with it, will really be able to grow. We need to put ourselves in pressure points every Time, because that's the only way to grow."

Grover added that most people bet on games of chance and the lottery but never bet on themselves. They are not ready to put money and bet on their success. Shame, guilt and fear, keep them in a cage and prevent them from moving forward. According to him, "The best bet on themselves and their success, because they are the only ones who can control it. If you want to grow, you have to set big goals, and not compete with anyone else, but only yourself."
