On Wednesday, 100 days before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the largest squat in France was dismantled. Around 7:30 a.m., several hundred police officers and gendarmes invaded the premises of an abandoned company located south of Paris, in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne). A real village within the city, this camp brought together up to 450 migrants, the oldest of whom had been there for three years.
For charitable associations, this new major operation confirms the authorities' desire to carry out in Île-de-France, and without recognizing it, a vast social cleansing in anticipation of the Olympics.

,” indicates Paul Alauzy at Médecins du monde. After the dismantling of another camp, located a stone's throw from the Olympic Village, on April 26, 2023, the population of the Vitry squat quickly doubled.
