"Italian growth is surprisingly positive in 2023, reaching +0.9%," notes the Confindustria Study Center which, at the time of its spring forecasts, revised its GDP forecasts for 2024 upwards to +0.9%; +1.1% in 2025. The previous estimate for this year, from last October, was stuck at +0.5%.
In addition to the improvement in global demand which will "give new impetus to exports", Confindustria economists highlight "two powerful stimuli to growth": the prospect of falling rates and the Pnrr. And they warn: "Various factors slow down growth": "the cost of electricity", "the gradual phase out of the super bonus", "worldwide bottlenecks in transport" (MarRosso but not only).
